More subject ideas for blog writing

As promised in my first post, here are a few more subject ideas for blog writing that you may like to think about for your next blog.

If you didn’t read the first part of my blog in which I covered the following topics, useful, educational, compilations and fun! please click here.

Lifestyle blog writing

This is a great subject idea for blog writing because it can cover so many different topics.

  • What is your favourite food/cuisine/wine? In addition tell people how you first discovered it, perhaps on a holiday or business trip?
  • Do you have a fitness routine?  For example, tell people about your morning run, perhaps with pictures of landmarks or wildlife along your route?
  • What is on your playlist? Such as a new artist you have discovered and want to share with your readers?
  • What books do you like reading, together with the title of the book you are reading at the moment?
  • Do you have any hobbies? Tell your readers about them (without going into too much depth!)
  • Where do you like to go on holiday and why?
  • I am sure you can think of even more examples!

We all do something that is on this list, and we have all talked about it with friends, so it should be a fairly easy one to start blogging about! Think of it as a conversation with your friends in the pub, without the booze and swear words!

Personal blog writing

Do you feel a little uncomfortable writing about personal things on your business website?

To begin with, it is true that writing a personal blog may feel a little uncomfortable. After all, you are sharing aspects of yourself with complete strangers. however, introducing a more personal blog to your website is a great way to show your customers that you are a ‘real’ person.  It helps your customers to engage with you, and build trust in you, and subsequently in your business.

What is one fun fact people don’t know about you? This could be that you can juggle, or perhaps you bake cakes to relax? Perhaps you can do impressions or accents? In this case, a podcast obviously works better than a written blog. Or, perhaps you donate a number of hours per week working for a charity or local community project?

Another example of a personal blog would be to to ask what advice your older self might give to a younger you? This is a great one for inviting debate and sharing advice tips with your readers.

Case study blog writing

Well, case study blog writing speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

This works particularly well if you offer a service, or a customised product. In the first instance, you can outline a problem one of your customers had, and then go on to write about how you overcame this problem for them. Together with an endorsement from your customer, this makes a strong statement about you and your business. Particularly how you were willing to go that extra mile for them.

I think I may have reached the end of this post about more subject ideas for blog writing! And I still have even more subjects to suggest that may help you put pen to paper. So, there will be a part 3…
