FAQs

Answers to FAQs – Clients often have many questions when engaging a copywriter to create content whether online or off line, so I have outlined answers to the most common FAQs below. If you have a question that is not answered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Above all, the most commonly asked questions are, how long will it take and how much will it cost? I am sure these must be the most asked questions in any type of business.

However, for a copywriter, every project is different because every business is different! This is why I love my job so much! On this page, I try to give you some idea about how much it will cost to hire me for certain services, but again, I stress that every single job is different and a chat costs nothing, so why not call me to find out?

Q: How much will it cost to create my copy?

A: In order to give you some idea of cost, and as a general guide, a one-page website (around 600-750 words) will cost from £100.00. For this you get the following:

  • An initial 20-30 minute phone call/zoom meeting/face-to-face meeting to discuss your project and your business
  • A detailed quote outlining the project and costs involved
  • Following your acceptance of my quote, I will email you a list of in-depth questions which we will go through on our second call (normally within a day or two)
  • Research into both your company and your main competitors
  • Google-friendly original copy, written to an agreed word count in a tone of voice that engages your target customers
  • Two sets of revisions

Obviously, no two projects are the same, but the initial phone call and quote are completely without obligation. This enables me to provide a detailed quote for every project and it is only on your acceptance of my quote that our contract begins. If you have an ongoing project and would prefer me to charge per hour, my hourly rate is £45. Alternatively, if you would prefer to provide a written brief for your project, please complete the form below and press submit.

Q: How much will it cost to create copy for my website?

A: I have already outlined the cost for a single page website above, but if you are updating or designing a brand new website, it may have several pages, and therefore need more text. For this kind of project, I charge from £75 per page (around 450 words), plus you get all the following included at no additional cost!

  • An initial 30-60 minute phone call/zoom meeting/face-to-face meeting to discuss your project and your business
  • A detailed quote outlining what was discussed, the main points of the project and an outline of costs
  • Following your acceptance of my quote, I will email you a list of in-depth questions which we will go through on our second call (normally within a day or two)
  • Research into both your company and your main competitors
  • SEO friendly original copy, written in a tone of voice that speaks to your target customers
  • One set of revisions/minor amendments per page

So, if you would like a chat about your copy requirements for a new website, or need someone to rewrite what you already have in a different tone of voice, contact me for a no-obligation quote!

Q: I need blogs for my website, can you help me?

A: This question is a very easy one to answer – yes, of course I can! I have written blogs for a number of clients, all with very different businesses, from finance to IT, printers to electricians, motor aftersales to boilers! As a general rule of thumb, prices for blogs are detailed below:

  • Short blogs of around 450-500 words cost from £50-£65, depending on the detail included in the brief and the amount of research I may have to undertake
  • Blogs of 800-1,000 words cost from £65-80, again this depends on the amount of detail provided by my client and the time I spend researching

If you need help with writing blogs for your website, please get in touch so we can discuss your requirements!

Q: How long will it take you to produce my copy?

A: Of course, everyone wants to know how long the job will take but the answer on many variables:

  1. The scope of the project
  2. How much research is involved
  3. What the word count is
  4. Whether there is a deadline for the final copy
  5. How quickly information is provided by the client
  6. How much work is already booked into my schedule

This is why I provide you with a detailed quote, outlining the answers to these (and sometimes many more), questions.

Q: What information do you need? I am not sure how to write a copywriting brief.

A: Some clients are used to working with various different agencies and are therefore happy to use a brief for what is required. If you would prefer this to our phone call (or even to outline your project before a discussion), I have put together a brief to help you provide the relevant information. Please fill in the form below and press submit when completed. Alternatively, you can download the pdf form, complete it and email it to me.

If you would rather discuss your project in person, please call me to for an informal discussion and I will send you a no-obligation quote based on our conversation. It really is that simple!
